if I knew one

Tawny is the type of name that makes you think of a blonde bombshell, but I'll have to substitute it with 'Riana.' (She'll know the reference).

Anyway, I fell in love with port wines, as well as madeiras, several years ago, and I am always on the lookout for both that are aged more than 20 years (for those of you that want to send me gifts, I am searching for Amarones, Sagrantinos, Ports and Madeiras that are older than 1970). This will be the second tawny that I am reviewing on the site, though I have drank at least two in the past three months.

'If you like Pina Colada...' no silly, this has a very raisin-y taste, and it's a good one. This wine is smooth, refined, and will set you apart as a gentleman of leisure, kind of like James Bond, or Austin Powers without the bad teeth. If you want to step your wine game up, try port wine, and try this one.

Our Mission: The Black Winer strives to expose African Americans [and others] to wines, without the flair, stuffiness, and airs of elitism and snobbery that you get from sommeliers and high level wine enthusiasts. We believe in finding something that you like the taste of, outside of the basic brands that you have been force-fed over the years through a combination of ethnically targeted advertising, and what people in your family have historically been drinking.
